Economy cars in Syros.

A good fit starts with the details.

An economy car is a useful starting point when easy manoeuvring matters more than a large boot. Compare the actual passenger and luggage arrangement rather than assuming all small cars carry the same load. Four seats do not mean four adults and four large suitcases will travel comfortably. Check transmission, air conditioning and the booked vehicle group with the operator. For airport or ferry collection, choose around the arrival-day bags as well as the lighter beach days.

Make the category work in Syros.

Stay for Ermoupoli, drive for the beaches. The best transport plan makes time for both.

• Ask your accommodation how to approach it and where to park.
• Keep town exploration and coastal drives as separate parts of the plan.
• Confirm airport collection independently of ferry-port arrangements.
